Peter J. Ross, Founder & CEO of Town Square, is a seasoned leader in senior care franchising with over two decades of experience building purpose-driven businesses. Born in Portland, Maine, Peter earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Southern Maine before launching a successful corporate career with companies like ADP, Ernst & Young, and Intuit.
In 2002, he pivoted toward franchising—a move that would shape the rest of his professional life. Peter has since founded or co-founded four healthcare franchise brands, including Senior Helpers and Doctors Express Urgent Care. His work has supported over 600 franchisees nationwide, giving him deep insight into what makes an adult day care franchise model thrive.
His passion lies in the senior care sector, which he believes offers the greatest potential to make a meaningful impact—especially for families navigating the complexities of aging.

Peter’s vision for Town Square emerged from a realization: millions of seniors fall into a “middle market” category. Meaning, earning too much to qualify for assistance, but not enough to afford home care or senior living. This underserved group makes up more than 60% of America’s aging population, and Peter saw an opportunity to bridge the gap.
After learning about a unique 1950s-style adult day center created by the Glenner Foundation in San Diego, he helped launch the first prototype and made the bold decision to franchise the model nationwide. Today, Peter leads Town Square with a deep sense of purpose.

Inspired by the George G. Glenner Alzheimer’s Family Centers’ 1950s replica town concept, Founder & CEO Peter J. Ross launched Town Square in 2018 to bring immersive reminiscence therapy to a wider audience. This innovative approach engages seniors—especially those with dementia—in joyful, familiar environments.
Recognizing the growing need for affordable, meaningful care for “middle market” seniors, Peter developed a cost-effective adult day model that helps seniors stay at home longer while supporting caregivers. The first center opened in Perry Hall, Maryland in 2019, followed by the streamlined “Town Square 2.0” design to improve efficiency and franchise success.
Franchising began in 2022, and Town Square continues to expand nationwide—blending heart, innovation, and community to reimagine senior care.
