TOWN SQUARE Bradenton at University Parkway: COMING SOON!

A whole new concept in adult day care is coming to seniors in the Bradenton at University Parkway area. Town Square is an adult day center specifically tailored to serve people with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia and memory disorders – we give our members a safe, exciting, and fulfilling day in unique surroundings built to fully evoke an idyllic 1950s small town. And we can’t wait to open our doors in Bradenton at University Parkway!

Town Square caters to people at all levels of cognitive functioning – each day is filled with remembrance, learning, social connection, making new friends, and plenty of classic fun. Our exceptional standard of care and clinically-backed therapeutic model offers caregivers total piece of mind.

Our midcentury aesthetic, and our specially-designed activity areas called storefronts, support our model of reminiscence therapy, an approach to dementia care developed by the George G. Glenner Alzheimer’s Family Centers that has been shown to reduce stress and agitation and increase overall quality of life, among many other benefits.

    Town Square’s Model of Care

According to research, people with dementia are best able to hold onto memories from their teens and twenties – that is to say, their formative years. Those with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias have been observed to easily remember and talk about events that took place during these years of their lives, even when they cannot recall more recent times.

Our center is themed around the 1950s because this was the time when most people who are diagnosed with dementia today came of age. Our design was chosen specifically to evoke the most vivid memories of this time period in a fulfilling way that allows for socialization, sharing, and stimulating discussion.

As there is not yet a cure for any form of dementia, reminiscence therapy activities are one of the best ways to increase the quality of life of people with cognitive and memory conditions. Members of Town Square locations have seen a greater level of social openness, greater quality of sleep at night after visiting us, and more.

    Step Inside

Our innovative activity rooms, called storefronts, help put members at ease and encourage reminiscing by utilizing vintage design elements and décor.

Each storefront, from the Rec Center to Starlite Theater to Glenner Park, has been meticulously designed to create an immersive, nostalgic environment where memories come to the forefront and members are inspired to share stories with their peers.
