ABOUT TOWN SQUARE SARASOTA
Town Square is a senior day care center focused on providing engagement and socialization to seniors challenged with the normal effects of aging, as well as possibly struggling with memory issues like Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, or even Parkinson’s.
We serve local seniors and their families with an exciting, safe, and engaging destination that isn’t just a place to spend the day – it’s a place to make the whole day, and every day, better. Whether our members are with us every day, or just a few days each week, we give seniors a great time with friendship, conversation, reminiscence, and plenty of fun.
We were founded by employees of Senior Helpers, a nationally-leading provider of home healthcare services. Our founders’ expertise in senior care gave them the insight that no company was meeting communities’ needs for a place where senior citizens could gather with their peers, have an engaging and fun day, and share their formative experiences in a therapeutic way.
Town Square’s concept is based on the work of Dr. George G. Glenner, the originator of reminiscence therapy. Our activities, structured around our unique physical layout of “storefronts” that replicate locations in a 1950s small town, are carefully crafted to spark memories, socialization, discussion, and learning.
