MEET THE TEAM
The team at Town Square Sandy Springs is composed of exceptional senior care professionals, and they’re key to everything we do. See below for details of our staff members’ experience, or learn more on careers with Town Square to find out what we have to offer our employees.
Mary leads all day-to-day operations at Town Square Sandy Springs. She is an experienced gerontologist with a background in social work. She moved from a Master’s in Social Work program after completing a clinical internship to the highly rated Masters in Aging Studies at Eastern Illinois University, one of four graduate programs to earn the National Program of Merit (POM) designation from the Association of Gerontology in Higher Education. Mary’s career in aging includes roles at two Georgia Area Agencies on Aging, the Adult Day Health Programs at Mercy Care Rome and Athens Community Council on Aging, and most recently, at the Alzheimer’s Association.
Mary has a deep understanding of the societal-based challenges around aging, specifically those that impact dementia patients and their care partners. Her area of expertise is assisting individuals and families through the experience of living with dementia — from first recognizing there is a need, obtaining a diagnosis, and identifying first steps, to co-creating a flexible care plan that will grow as needs increase. She is passionate about Town Square’s individualized, strengths-based program that utilizes reminiscence theory and joyful social experiences to improve quality of life for members and their families.
A true steward in the industry, Mary serves on the board of the The Georgia Gerontological Society, is a member of the Georgia Alzheimer’s and Related Dementia Collaborative (serving on two committees), and a past community partner with Georgia Memory Net through her role at The Alzheimer’s Association.
