Seniors with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias have been observed to readily recall, and converse about, the times of their youth.

Reminiscence Therapy

Research has shown that people with dementia are best able to hold on to their memories from their formative years – that is to say, their teens and twenties. Since most of the people who are diagnosed with dementia today came of age in the mid 1900s, the design of our center is built to evoke those memories in the most vivid and joyous way possible.

Our members engage in activities that have proven benefits in the quality of life of people with memory conditions, such as reduced anxiety, increased willingness to socialize, and better and greater quantity of sleep at night. We did not have a great experience with the Director of Town Square. We went there for a tour of the facility and wound up in a room with Mandy rushing through the contract as we had limited time . Mandy charged my dad $2700 for a 90 day contract he will not use. There were several legitimate reasons why my dad was unable to attend. Mandy was aware of the potential of these issues before we left her office.In spite of making Mandy aware that these issues materialized, she insisted on charging him the full 90 day amount. I appreciate that we signed a contract to enroll my father. I also appreciate that we signed the contract in hurried manner and did not have a physical copy of it until 21 days later. Mandy insists that at the point of signature on the contract, you are obligated to pay the full amount, regardless of cause for termination. If you read the contract in its entirety, you can see that there really isn’t a way to negotiate a termination. They claim they offer arbitration but even arbitration can circle around and cost you money. I would advise that you have an attorney read the contract prior to making a commitment.

I want to stress that we communicated with Mandy many times to try to resolve our issue.

Be mindful and before you walk out the door make sure you have a copy of the contract and that you have had time to fully discuss it with the staff at Town Square and an attorney. Don’t feel pressured. You are going to need at least an hour to read it word for word and ask questions. Bring someone who understands the legal implications of contract termination.

My wife who has dementia has been coming here for a month and is having so much fun! We feel so blessed to have found somewhere that she can have active interaction and support with activities that give stimulate her. She was going two days a week but asked if she could come more often so she is now here three days and enjoying herself each day!
I would highly recommend Town Square for anyone that has a loved one that needs interaction for dementia or Alzheimer’s!

This place is truly amazing. The staff is incredible. The activities they do for the elder are amazing. My grandma has dementia and I bring her here and it has been the biggest support for me since I became her caregiver. I don’t know what I would do without this place. It’s life-changing. Not to mention, my Grandma has never been happier or felt more included, and it gives her something to look forward to again.

Town Square in Kennewick is a top notch company. I was invited by Stephanie Marquez to an Open House. I immediately realized their innovative approach was different than anything I've ever seen. They engage their gusts in an interactive way, depending on each individuals specific needs. Stephanie and the Staff are full of genuine love and transparent compassion. You feel important and loved the minute you walk through the doors. Mandy, the owner, treats every client as though they were her own personal relative. I strongly recommend Town Square Kennewick to everyone in the Tri-City Community.

I had the pleasure of touring Town Square and as nurse of 25 years working with mostly seniors and a lot of patients with dementia’s and other cognitive challenges I was very impressed with the entire concept. But beyond the concept what struck me the most was the passion that the employees there have for their mission of caring for seniors and vulnerable adults. Stephanie, Mandy, Kadie & the whole team obviously love what they do and are completely sold out to the concept of Caring, Connecting & Supporting seniors in our community with compassion. Their commitment to excellence flows down hill from Mandy the owner through her team an it’s obvious the entire team believes with all their heart that the only way to succeed in their mission is to adhere to the highest of standards in every aspect of their business. Over and over again during my tour when questions arose about how things are done or how something would work it all came back to this statement, “we just insist on doing it right, everytime”. Highly recommend Town Square for anyone looking to adult day services for seniors.
