Program Assistant

REPORTS TO:  Activity Coordinator / Senior Helpers Management


Included but not limited to:

  • Actively present and participate in Town Square member activities
  • Assist in the facilitation of creative activity programs and encourage member participation
  • Serve meals and snacks; assist members requiring help with eating; clear tables
  • Prepare member activities as requested
  • Actively contribute to creating and maintaining a clean, orderly, bright, and welcoming environment
  • Communicate in a positive, courteous, and professional manner with members and their families, co-workers, referral agencies, and the community at large
  • Participate in staff meetings and in-service educational programs as needed; actively collaborate with cross-functional team, providing feedback and recommendations for enhancing the member experience and achieving overall goals and objectives
  • Comply with company policies and procedures and safety and regulatory laws and standards

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Preferred prior experience working seniors and/or adults with special needs
  • Able to work a flexible schedule
  • Able to bend, pull, push, squat, turn, transfer, and lift 50 pounds; able to stand for an extended period while providing physical assistance to members
  • Successful results of background check, and where applicable, additional state specific regulatory requirements
