Our story comes from an important truth about aging. As we grow older, we don’t lose our sense of who we were in our younger days. Instead, memories from our formative years become increasingly vital and important to who we are.
At Town Square, we draw upon these memories to engage our members in a unique experience in reminiscence therapy, which is a major focus of our care model. For those living with Alzheimer’s and dementia, this gives us a meaningful way to interact with someone whose present reality is based in their memories of the past. At the same time, this approach has therapeutic benefits for all adults and seniors, including those with normal memory function.
As our loved ones age, questions arise around how we’ll care for them. Busy lives can hinder the ability to provide adequate care or support. There are plenty of descent options for care, but often we’re left wishing we could find something more fulfilling and engaging. It was this need that inspired the Town Square concept.
Town Square at the Jersey Shore is a new type of adult day care center, built by professionals with decades of experience in senior care, who are dedicated to creating purpose and meaning in the lives of seniors, including those living with Alzheimer’s and dementia.
As professionals in this industry, we realize that many people lack important knowledge in this area. So we extend free education and support for family members and caregivers. Our Family Center, which is unique to our Brick, NJ location, is devoted to this purpose.

Who We Are
All of our staff members are trained in a specialized dementia and Alzheimer’s program, which enables us to better engage and interact with our members while also supporting families to do the same.
Our leadership team consists of professionals with decades of experience in the senior care industry, specializing in various areas of the industry, including skilled nursing, assisted living, home care, activity and program development, physical therapy, personal care, memory care, and more.
They hold professional titles including Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Activity Director, PAC Certified Independent Trainer, and Certified Dementia Practitioner, with additional degrees and certifications in Therapeutic Recreation, Physical Therapy, and more.
WHAT WE DO
Town Square at the Jersey Shore is a 12,000-square-foot facility, designed in the theme of a 1950’s American town. Inside is a series of “storefronts”, each geared towards a different aspect of our members’ well-being, health, and interests.
Our storefronts include a classic diner, a recreation room, a health club, a learning center and library, a service station with a 1955 Oldsmobile parked in front, a movie theater where members can watch classic movies and shows, and so much more.
Behind everything we do at Town Square is our staff’s experience in senior care and expertise in the fields of memory care and reminiscence therapy.
Research shows that, as we age and experience dementia, we hold onto memories of important life events — often those from our teens and 20s. For those now in their 80s, those formative years took place in the 1950s.
Benefits of Reminiscence Therapy — Reminiscence therapy uses prompts like vintage collectable props, music, movies, images, and games to stimulate long-term memories. While it hasn’t been proven to slow or stop the progression of dementia, it can reduce side effects like anxiety and depression.
In making these benefits available to the New Jersey senior community, we offer half days or full days at our Jersey Shore facility. Members may come for a single-day visit, multiple days, or up to a full week.

Even with all that is behind in life, there is still space for so much ahead. If we could only see every wrinkle as a laugh line, how different would the image and perception of aging be? We love to encourage our seniors in filling that space and time before them so life can be lived as fully and independently as possible.
We create a culture of care that seeks to engage clients in favorite activities, revisit past interests, and even explore new pursuits. Our mission is to provide the highest quality of service and client experiences through our thoughtfully developed care delivery process.

Town Square was founded by the team at Senior Helpers, a national leader in senior home care with a licensed and accredited agency in Ocean County, New Jersey. The Senior Helpers team recognized the opportunity to create Town Square as both an exciting destination and a trusted, safe community where seniors can access essential care.
