TOWN SQUARE: SENIOR DAY CARE AT THE PERRY HALL

In recent years, as more has become understood about the benefits of memory care and reminiscence therapy, we saw an opportunity to provide a richer and more meaningful experience of senior care.
Reminiscence therapy is a practice originally developed by George G. Glenner Alzheimer’s Family Centers. It’s based on the fact that, as we age — especially for those experiencing Alzheimer’s Disease or dementia — our memories from our formative young adult years are the ones that stay with us the longest. For someone who often faces confusion from daily life, these memories become a vibrant source of happiness and fulfillment. By revisiting them, seniors can reduce anxiety and increase feelings of joy.
That’s why, at Town Square, we’ve created a comprehensive, immersive environment that takes seniors back to one of the most important times in their lives. Today’s seniors came of age in the 1950s and early 1960s, and at Town Square Perry Hall, they can relive that era as they encounter a myriad of cultural touchstones from the time, surrounded by a community of people their same age, who can share in many of the same memories and experiences.
Behind this focus of reminiscence and memory care, we’ve established a foundation of high-quality professional care, with a well-trained staff and a licensed nurse on-site at all times. These qualifications allow us to manage medications, monitor any health conditions, and respond quickly in the case of an emergency. It also gives you and your loved ones peace of mind, knowing that a day at Town Square Perry Hall is therapeutic, engaging, and safe.

A DAY AT TOWN SQUARE PERRY HALL
Town Square Perry Hall is a spacious facility. Our immersive 1950s design — complete with 12 activity centers, that we call “storefronts” — provides a therapeutic environment where our members can reminisce, engage in exciting programs, and form bonds with their peers.
When members first join, we sit down for a session to get to know them, assess their specific individual needs, and make a plan for how we can best provide care and support.
We then plan our programming to create the greatest possible benefit for our entire community. Each storefront has its own schedule of activities, and we organize social groups so that every member can participate in the activities that are best suited to their needs, abilities, and interests.
Our storefronts include
- A classic diner, where members can have a meal and a conversation
- A game room, where friends can engage in table games, board games, and more
- A health club, with exercise programs for all abilities
- A newsstand, featuring both new and vintage magazines
- A movie theater, screening films from the golden age of Hollywood
- Our classic “Little Blue House” living room
- And so much more.
Behind all activities that take place at Town Square Perry Hall is the excellent, compassionate care of our trained staff, the medical care available through our on-site nurse, and our team’s knowledge in the areas of memory care and reminiscence therapy.
You can join us a full day, and you can choose to attend on a schedule that works for you, anywhere from one to five days per week, Monday through Friday.
WHO WE ARE
Our team members are all trained in best practices for caring for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia. Their specialized understanding allows them to better interact with all our members and also offer advice to caregiver families to provide the best possible experience for their loved ones at home.
Our leadership team includes professionals with credentials, certifications, higher-ed degrees, and decades of experience pertaining to senior care — including experience in home care, adult day care, skilled nursing and medical care, assisted living, activity and program development, memory care, and more.
Our on-site licensed nurse provides leadership from a medical perspective, allowing us to provide an extra layer of support and comfort to our members and their families.

Town Square was created in part by the team at Senior Helpers, one of the county’s leading senior home care providers, with a licensed and accredited agency that serves Baltimore City, Baltimore County, and Harford County, Maryland. Our relationship with Senior Helpers allows us to offer our members an even more complete arrangement of care, with the option to integrate home care and adult day care.
