Town Square’s Approach to Memory Care
People who have recently been diagnosed with dementia often feel lost and hopeless in many ways. At Town Square, we believe that seniors deserve robust help and compassionate support from the moment they find out they have a memory or cognitive impairment.
That’s why we build memory care into our services – so that our members get the right help for their needs and their loved ones can rest easy knowing the person they care for is spending the day in an environment that will uplift them.
What is Memory Care?
Memory care is clinical support in daily life for those who have Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia. For people with memory loss, a robust memory care plan can make a huge difference in their symptoms and life satisfaction, even though there is still no cure for any form of dementia.
At Town Square, our memory care approach takes into account both reminiscence therapy and dementia care, and we give our members a complete support system for their cognitive health while they spend time with us and beyond.
Our reminiscence therapy services are based on the revolutionary ideas that originated in the George G. Glenner Alzheimer’s Family Centers, and that we developed into programming that benefits our members all the way down to the design of our locations.
How Does Town Square Provide Memory Care for Our Members?
First and foremost, our staff’s specialized training is key to giving our members the loftiest standard in memory care. Town Square’s employees are educated in the scientifically and socially backed best ways to interact with people who have dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. And all of our adult day programs are developed using clinical findings from the George G. Glenner Alzheimer’s Family Centers.
